Description:

Elgin Township provides General Assistance for those who are ineligible for any other state or federal funding program. Eligibility is based on financial need and township residency. They also provide Emergency Assistance for rent to prevent eviction and disconnection of utilities.. They refer for social assistance and provide Voter registration and early voting for Kane County residents. Household battery recycling is available as are Notary Public services. They also are a member of TRIAD, a community partnership to enhance safety and services to seniors.

Eligibility:

Must be an Elgin Township resident. Emergency Assistance: A person must demonstrate the ability to pay their next month's rent when seeking rent assistance. A disconnect status must exist to receive utility assistance (gas, electric, water). Income guidelines apply. General Assistance: Must be a single adult with no income.
